I know many of you are wondering what the title means..well, here let me explain.
I recently heard of a burglary of the ground floor of a house when the owner were fast asleep on the top floor. ... "Oh they must be professional!" ...that is the comment that most said and I am sure that's what everyone reading this post is also thinking...
Is that word not weird in this context? I know I might have said that too but somehow I just can't get myself to after giving it a thought more.. How can I call a "criminal" under the eyes of law and all other law-abiding citizens (at least they don't take stuff without asking) a professional???
For some reason, I feel by describing a burglar to be professional, I am accepting burglary as a profession...And I am sorry that I cannot accept in my world of ethics & morals!
OK...now I feel I am talking nonsense and that nobody is going to understand what I have written or agree to it!...Comment away please....Is burglary a profession? Can you identify a professional burglar?
Very thought provoking post. A professional is someone who is engaged in a given activity as a source of livelihood or as a career. They are also considered as an expert in their chosen field.
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 types of burglars. They are professional burglars, thieves and opportunists. Professional burglars are specialized criminals.
I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, the society calls these specialized criminals as professional burglars.
Very often professional word is used as synonym for an expert.

ReplyDeleteTheft is a profession requiring skill and no qualification. Amateurs will not be able to get away if they steal, thats where professionalism counts
